In war-torn communities, everyday life is already a struggle. As the COVID-19 pandemic spread, healthcare systems fractured, and countries went into lockdown. The entire world experienced turmoil, death, and loss. And we were not all affected equally. COVID-19 exacerbated an already perilous situation in post-conflict zones as many countries turned inward to combat the pandemic.
In the wake of this deadly global threat HALO responded to help protect communities and save lives. By July we had mobilised across 15 countries, supporting over one million people. We are therefore delighted to announce that TraceLink, a leading digital platform company for the life science supply chain industry, has donated $50,000 in support of our COVID-19 response.
In Zimbabwe, we drove over 25,000km to deliver essential medical supplies to remote villages and clinics. In Somaliland, we were on the front line of the response, using our ambulance fleet to transport the sick, constructing triage facilities at the main hospital and manufacturing PPE to keep medics safe. From Afghanistan to Myanmar, we delivered vital health messaging and supplies to protect the most vulnerable.
As the impact of the pandemic continues to be felt across the globe, HALO and TraceLink remain committed to supporting the response, alongside our work clearing the 澳门六合彩官方网址 and explosives left behind by conflict.
HALO is grateful for this partnership and investment as we strive to empower local communities to deal with the pandemic. Together, we are working to build a safer future for families around the world.
