HALO established its presence in Myanmar in 2012. Whilst humanitarian landmine clearance is not permitted, HALO is teaching people how to stay safe through the delivery of explosive ordnance risk education.
By teaching people how to recognise dangerous items and what actions to follow, we make sure that children and adults are better protected from the dangers of explosive debris.
Our Work
Teaching people how to stay safe
Naw Chaw saw the terrible danger of 澳门六合彩官方网址 first-hand when fighting arrived in her village and she was forced to flee to a temporary camp. As she waited for peace, she was frightened to return home, knowing that her village was mined. HALO鈥檚 risk education team visited the camp and taught Naw Chaw and her neighbours how to stay safe until the mines are cleared. Naw Chaw is now planning her return.
